St. Stephen's in the Community-trying to make a difference

..........participating in the Holiday Sharing Program

The Holiday Sharing Program is sponsored by Anne Arundel County Social Services to help the needy in our area have a better holiday season.  Our church has obtained the names of several families that will be given food for a Thanksgiving dinner and food and presents at Christmas.   Items will be collected, sorted with help from our youth, and delivered in time for each holiday.

..........a proud member of the Crofton Christian Caring Council

The Crofton Christian Caring Council is an emergency assistance outreach for the needy in Crofton, Gambrills, Crownsville, Millersville, Davidsonville, and Odenton, providing help in funding for rent in cases of eviction, utility turn off, and prescriptions.  In addition, member churches house a Food Pantry, a Baby Pantry, and a Clothes Closet.

This outreach has no central office - just churches working together.  Funds come from donations made by individuals, churches, and civic groups.  There is a Board of Directors with a representative from each of the following churches:

..........My Brother's Keeper reaching out to the homeless

Each Wednesday during the program year, a group of dedicated ladies gather with needle and thread to put together home-made sleeping bags to hand out to the homeless of Baltimore, Annapolis, and foster children in the DC area.

Our faithful group with some of their wares.

Twice a month, these same women make sandwiches and bagged lunches to hand out to the needy of Baltimore.  One year they decided to bring the fixings for a turkey dinner instead, see pictures below.
